Microsoft Dynamics 365 HR is a powerful human resources (HR) and human capital management (HCM) tool. The platform connects Microsoft’s suite of enterprise apps into a single platform, enabling organizations to link their HR management operations with other key apps such as Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Project Operations.

According to Microsoft’s own words, Dynamics 365 HR is a solution that enables organizations to “create a workplace where people and businesses thrive”. The platform covers a wide range of HR areas such as personnel management, employee development, and learning management and integrates with a variety of third-party tools and solutions according to operational needs.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for HR professionals

Microsoft Dynamics 365 HR (D365 HR) brings with it a wide range of benefits for HR professionals.

The most compelling of these benefits is the platform’s ability to enable HR teams to optimize their HR programs. D365 HR can, for example, help HR managers to simplify leave and absence processes, create and roll out flexible compensation plans that follow defined guidelines, and connect to existing payroll systems for comprehensive management and tracking.

Microsoft has demonstrated its commitment to strengthening the employee experience through the continuous release of new features that enhance the functionality of Dynamics 365 HR.
One such feature is the potential for integrating Dynamics 365 HR within Microsoft Teams to streamline HR processes through employee self-service. The integration leverages the full potential of the platform’s leave and absence functionality that FourVision developed in partnership with Microsoft, enabling employees to request leave or time off from within their existing Teams environment.

In addition to self-service, D365 HR helps to transform employee experiences through its centralized employee profiles. Here, employees can share information such as career accomplishments, skills, certifications, and interests to foster positive connections with their colleagues.

Infrastructure Merge

Earlier this year, it was announced that Dynamics 365 HR would be merged with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), ending D365 HR’s run as a standalone SaaS application. Although the merger will cause no significant change to functionality, it’s recommended that customers migrate their HR operations to Dynamics 365 F&O before December 2023.
