Barnardo’s is a British children’s charity founded by Thomas Barnardo in 1866. It is one of the UK’s largest children’s charities with over 5,000 employees and 17,000 volunteers across the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia. Barnardo’s is a founding member of Fostering Through Social Enterprise (FtSE), a consortium of non-profit agencies that advocate for children at the central government level.

Barnardo’s currently uses the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Human Resources (HR) module to manage their employee lifecycles and had previously worked with another organization to implement their existing solution.

Although this system is live, evolving operational requirements at Barnardo’s have rendered many core parts of its functionality redundant. This includes critical areas such as sickness reporting, leave & absences, and data exportation to payroll. Barnardo’s also has a need for additional HR functionality that cannot be supported by its existing implementation, such as a new payroll solution.

Barnardo’s got in touch with FourVision to optimize their Dynamics 365 HR deployment with a view to redeploying an improved, futureproof Dynamics 365 HR solution supported by our range of Web Apps that will be able to withstand the fast-paced nature of Barnardo’s operations and any changes that occur internally over time.

Phase one of our partnership will begin with a health check. This will involve combing through the charity’s HR systems in order to find out, for example, which elements of Dynamics 365 F&O-HR functionality have not been implemented or have been improperly implemented, or the presence of any elements that are not standard for D365 HR and would therefore require additional development. This will enable our team of Dynamics experts to put together a scope of work and begin looking into adding additional functionality within Barnardo’s existing system.

The next phase of our partnership will involve the implementation of the Compensation & Benefits functionality of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Core HR, with the potential for other applications to be added based on the results from the health check conducted in phase one.

The team at FourVision is excited to be working in partnership with Barnardo’s to enable the charity to deliver its mission: Supporting vulnerable children and young people through its vital front-line services.
