New Performance Management Functionality in Dynamics 365 Human Resources

Last month, one of our experts wrote about new functionality of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Human Resources in the First Release Wave of 2020.

As the name states, that was only the first release wave! That is why today, we will go into the enhanced data entities in Performance Management.

The Starting Point

The data migration capability related to Performance Management in Dynamics 365 Human Resources certainly needed to be enhanced to support frequent customer requirements.

The existing capabilities included the migration of Performance journals and Performance reviews but was limited to achieving a historical overview of employee performance data when the customer moved from a legacy application into Dynamics 365 Human Resources.

What’s Changed?

Microsoft’s enhancements will lift some of these restrictions. The following newly added data entities are related to employee performance reviews.

  • Discussion Competency
  • Discussion Goals
  • Discussion Measurement
  • Discussion Topic
  • Performance Journal
  • Measurement
  • Goal Measurement

The already existing Discussion Data entity is enhanced slightly to include ‘Total’ and ‘Average Score’ fields.

How to Use

Refresh the data entities on the Dynamics 365 Human Resources environment to test the new data entities. If you do not see the changes after refreshing the entities, then please wait 48 hours. This is to ensure that Microsoft has rolled it out in the environment you are testing in.

There are some more enhancements necessary in this area, so we can surely expect new releases in the future. Something to look forward to!
